Recommended Comics for 6/10/15

I'm back! Quick notice, I will be switching this segment from Monday to Tuesday. Also, as for why I have been gone so long, I have been through a rough period where I was in between a couple of jobs. Things are looking up, and I hope to catch up on my reviews.

Reminder: I will be taking one comic from the Dark Horse, DC, Image, Marvel, Valiant companies, and one bonus publisher and will recommend for both new and veteran readers to check out.

1. Dark Horse Recommendation: Harrow County #2

There isn't that many choices from Dark Horse this week. Mainly because the new issues that are coming out, I have not been following or have heard of it before hand. But Harrow Country has my interest. And while I know nothing beyond that it is a horror story, I don't got much else. Sorry, I promise the others I have much more to say on.

2. DC Recommendation: Batman #41

Ask anyone who saw my posts on social media, and you will know that I am not exactly pleased with the new Bat-Armor. I still don't like it. But my interest hasn't waned because of that and in fact has increased when I read Batman #40 and learned who is under the mask.

If you haven't found for yourself what is going on, then let me just say that Batman is going in a very interesting direction and you got to catch onto the train before it leaves the station. Plus, Mr Bliss, a new villain who is teased to appear in #43, looks interesting.

3. Image Recommendation: Savior #3

This was a close call to make for Image comics recommendations this week. Unlike Dark Horse where there were 4 choices to make and I knew very little about all 4 or DC where I instantly knew I was gonna be recommending Batman. For Image, there were so many good comics. Like Saga, Walking Dead, Birthright, Copperhead, etc. But I decided on which one I am most looking forward to: Savior.

Written by the creator of Spawn and drawn by Clayton Crain the artist of Rai, this book is amazing. There is a lot of mystery going on surrounding the amnesiac hero and a lot of beautiful drawings depicting it. It is a bit of a pain to have to wait 8 issues for the origin story to be done, but it is wonderful enough to be worth the wait.

Seriously, check out Savior.

4. Marvel Recommendation: Inhumans Attilan Risng #2

Like Image, there were so many choices to pick. But in the end, I am gonna go with Inhumans. Like many Secret Wars stories, beyond the main one needing a little background done, you don't need to read the original series this was replacing.

I do recommend reading Inhumans Attilan Rising #1 if for just the fact it is great. Short and very little spoilers though? A resistance led by Black Bolt is trying to undermine the maker of Battleworld's rule. Queen Medusa, who follows the God King loyally, is trying to squash it. So she sends her most loyal spy to the Quiet Room to find the leader of the resistance. And the spy does. Except it is most likely a version of Black Bolt due to various differences from the one most comic readers would be familiar with. And not just the actual look of him.

What happens next? Will the resistance fall? Medusa reign victorious? Or will this be the end of Battleworld?

5. Valiant Recommendation: Unity #19

A new story arc! A new villain! The return of X-O Manowar! What is sure to be a perfect time to jump on the Valiant train as you try to play catch up! Seriously, Valiant is epic. Read it now.

6. Bonus: Rachel Rising #34 (Abstract)

Read it. It is the most spectacular horror comic you will ever read. Don't worry about getting lost, I am here to help you catch up. At the very least check out the volumes collecting this series!
